Coffee Peanut Butter Cups - vegan, high raw, gluten free Sounds pretty exciting, doesn't it? Well, let me tell you, as someone who has downed a good many of these, that I feel incredibly grown up and full of peanut butter (the former cannot be without the latter, really). My bestie, Leeanne, came over the other day and as basically all of my friendship encounters are somehow contorted into a Zimt making party, treats were one of the inevitable results of our hang out. We had gone to Mexico together about six years ago, when neither of us drank coffee. Kids. But, I vaguely remember sitting outside a little cafe and Leeanne being much more open minded than I, and ordering an Americano. (A Gringo?! Hah.). So I always associate coffee with Leeanne, even slightly. How fitting for
Part 2 of my travels to Ecuador Hola, de repente! I started that last post while I was in Ecuador. Now I've been back for a week and a couple of days and it feels like I was never there. Almost. I was there enough to remember... The Saturday after I arrived, I made arrangements to fly to a different city in Ecuador to view the processing facility and farms that I currently get product from- and would get to say thank you more legitimately. I packed way too much stuff. You see, we've been moving houses since the end of February and as it was winter when we first moved out, all of my summer stuff was in storage/in my old basement/not entirely sure where. So when I found a lot of clothes for summer, I guess I got really excited and decided to pack them all. A w

This sums up a lot of the lovely meeting I had the other day with one of my dearest friends, Vanessa. We've been buds for a while now- coming up 7 years, I would say (that's a lot when you consider it is over Πof my life thus far). Usually, when we hang out, it is pretty productive. I mean, we've got stuff to do. Mostly, we've got food to eat (or, make, eat, and blog about- sometimes in that order). And thank my lucky stars that she is such a darned good cook with such an enormous heart.

Nut Free Triple Chocolate Fudge Brownies (vegan, GF, raw) Good Saturday! Hope you've all had a super week- mine was not bad. Some ups. Some downs. No neutrals. But mostly ups, I would say, really. One of the ups, and downs, came in the form of these brownies. The up? Very tasty. Very healthy. Can be very easy to make. The down? I'm a whiner when it comes to anything culinary (other than directly experimenting with Zimt up-and-coming recipes- that I love. Even when it is chaotic and involves me making
raw truffles, coconut sugar sweetened, raw, organic, vegan, fair trade, delicious, fancy, chocolates- they are here! Hi Zimtees, Just wanted to share a bit of news with you- in case you haven't heard we now have some pretty fancy chocolates in our roster of already pretty fancy chocolates. I wanted to get these ones out in time for Valentine's Day, because, well apparently these sorts of treats are pretty popular this time of year. Background information, though, needs to be shared. It all started just over three years ago, when I was figuring out how to even remotely begin to think of starting a chocolate company. Having zero idea, there was a lot to learn (and, there still is.). Initially, my idea had been to make a macaroon company. But I felt really
raw vegan cheesecake made with zucchini. Don't run away yet! I promise you that you will not be disappointed, should you accept the challenge (but it isn't really a challenge as it is so easy), to make, and eat, this cheesecake. [gallery ids="423,424,426"] [gallery columns="2" ids="427,425"] Zucchini, like my personal favourite - cauliflower, is an incredibly versatile veggie- rather neutral in flavour, it lends itself really well to a variety of cuisine. Including cheesecake cuisine. I had totally forgotten about it until I searched for a recipe for vegan cheesecake on Pinterest and found one like
What happens if you bake a Zimt Cookie Dough Cup? At 350F, for 10 minutes (out of the compostable packaging, of course). I have been asked this question many, many times! And up until this afternoon, I only had a hypothesis: the cookie dough cup, due to the coconut oil and coconut butter content, would flatten out like a delicious pancake - coconut oil liquifies with the heat of an oven set to bake cookies. Look what happened: READ MORE
Cinnamon Spiced Chocolate Chunk Popcorn
Happy Saturday, Everyone =) I think it is going to be a good day. Why? I'm determined. Why else? did you read the title of this post? I made this popcorn a few weeks ago to send to a retailer, to whom I am interested in supplying Zimt, as weGood Saturday Morning! Actually, that greeting was all too chipper- I'm tired. But, there's quite a bit to do today and I already "slept in" so I have to add "stop whining" to the to-do list and get crackin'. Hey, so you are looking at the new Zimt website! In the making! (Don't go to the homepage- as I am typing this, the slider images are not what they are supposed to be as I went in and changed it all up without any tech savvy skills.) But, look at the online store .! The very first order was placed yesterday- so exciting! I'm still kind of concerned about how to ship Cookie Dough Cups (refrigerated item alert) but I have a plan. So that is great! Now people all over the world can order raw, organic, coconut sugar sweetened chocolate and treats
