Fresh Start for 2012 01/04/2026
Stefanie and Zimt chocolatier, Emma wishing you all the best in 2012! Hi Everyone, Happy New Year! Thank you for checking out the Zimt website and blog! Previous blog posts can be found here. I decided to consolidate things and put the blog on the official Zimt website- this makes things seem at least a little simpler, a bit more minimalist. Thank you as well for making 2011 really quite incredible- it was a big, big year! I remember where I was at this point last year- my final semester of university before graduating, scribbling out ideas to bring raw chocolate to Vancouver. Now there are recipes and at least a bit of order, and a functioning website, packaging and barcodes and.... retail presence. Now I have a little chocolate company- and Vancouver has raw chocolate! Thank you very much for supporting Zimt. I'm really astounded at all the blessings Zimt has brought me- I've met some amazing people! Looking back makes me look ahead- if 2012 is half as unexpected and wonderful as 2011, I will be a happy chocolate-addict. Resolutions are popular and can help make wonderful, or at least good, happen- but again, it is more of the unexpected twists that can make things truly... awesome. I think many people have become a bit jaded and disheartened by resolutions at this point- we get our hopes up, set our intentions to be very high, but being human we are often left feeling failure-esque after succumbing to our limitations after a few days of great intentions. This is a great reason to have a flexible 2012- making flexible goals and celebrating when you achieve them. Much less pressure, much less "dooms day" if not all plans pan out precisely as originally hoped. Have a variety of goals and try them on and off. For example, say you are interested in veganism and want to live a more compassionate lifestyle. If you have tried to be vegan before and for some reason or another, have not stuck with it, try it again- plan ahead, take little steps, and be happy with your accomplishments, even if that means just having a vegan meal when you normally wouldn't. Any peaceful action has a big impact, especially in this case. I find that being successful with a goal even a couple of times in a row can help to create real momentum. Here are a list of my resolutions: 1. learn more about world religions and belief systems 2. juice more 3. keep working on sorting out life- to manageable levels 4. travel to Europe 5. travel to Asia 6. take up Krav Maga! 7. follow up on the to-do lists I make 8. donate chocolate to women's shelters 9. work through paperwork pile... 10. get trading (Forex, I am thinking.) 11. check my model mayhem account consistently... just for fun. 12. think really hard about what I say before any words leave my mouth. So if I don't respond to what you say for a while, but instead peer into the sky for a bit, this could just be me working on my NY resolution to keep from offending and/or confusing you and/or me. It may also be the ADD kicking in. What are your resolutions for the year? What are some unique resolutions you've heard of? ... leaving comments on the Zimt blog, perhaps? <3, Emma CommentsRaj Sun, 08 Jan 2026 05:43:20 I want to be more healthy.
